"Songs you won't hear at every other wedding" - Martha Stewart
One of my favorite magazines is Martha Stewart Weddings. In the Summer 2008 issue, they list some great songs that you don't usually hear. I've done hundreds of weddings, and I can vouch for this list as some original but not too obscure songs to have on your special day.
for the cocktail hour
I Only Have Eyes For You, Billie Holiday
How Deep Is Your Love, The Bird and the Bee
Tupelo Honey, Cassandra Wilson
It's Wonderful, Ella Fitzgerald
Soledad, Jorge Drexler
In a Sentimental Mood, John Coltrane
Stop, Look, Listen to Your Heart, Marvin Gaye and Diana Ross
I Want a Little Sugar in My Bowl, Nikka Costa
You Don't Have to Say you Love Me, Shelby Lynne
for the father/daughter dance
Maybe I'm Amazed, Jem
Sweet Pea, Amos Lee
In My Life, The Beatles
Isn't She Lovely, Stevie Wonder
I Can See Clearly Now, Jimmy Cliff
A Song for You, Gram Parsons
To Sir With Love, Al Green
The Wind, Cat Stevens
Have You Met Miss Jones (Swing When Version), Robbie Williams
for your first dance
Sea of Love, Cat Power
Thank You, Lizz Wright
Northern Sky, Nick Drake
Brighter Than Sunshine, Aqualung
In Your Eyes, Jeffrey Gaines
Somersault, Zero 7
Isn't It Romantic, Tony Bennett
A Case of You, Joni Mitchell
You're the Best Thing, The Style Council
Baby, Now That I've Found You, Alison Krauss
Here Comes the Sun, Nina Simone

Lakeway Resort - Jennifer & Lewis
May 17, 2008 - Lakeway Resort
As some of you may know, we not only do coordinating, but we do event design, setup and production. Jennifer hired us to bring together her beach themed wedding at Lakeway Resort. From a real sand aisle to hanging beta fish - we put it all together. Jennifer happens to be a fabulous jewelry designer and currently has items for sale at the Lakeway gift shop.
Along with the excellent coordination by Claire of Soiree and the floral guidance of Petal Pushers, we came together as a team and really did some amazing stuff! Townsley Designs brought in a super cool water table. Love it! Oh, and Troy with Blueye Photo is a ROCK STAR!!!

Happy Belated Anniversary Kim & Colton!!
Kim & Colton - June 2, 2007
Kali-Kate - Buda Texas
Happy Anniversary!! And yes, its taken me a year to post pictures. I'm a bad bad blogger.
Kim is truly stunning and Colton is as sweet as they come. They wanted bright vibrant colors and Susan with Callas Flowers made that happen. The Lucie's team also decided to personalize their ceremony seating with some easy DIY reserved signs. All you need is fun paper and special scissors that cut out shapes for you and viola!

GORGEOUS!
Lindsey & Grant - March 8, 2008I couldn't wait to post these amazing pictures of Lindsey & Grant. Their wedding and reception was at Thurman's Mansion in Driftwood. The day couldn't have been more gorgeous and the night was perfect for a surprise firework show for all their guests. They have such a true love for each other and it reflected in all their pictures.
Along with the expertise of Stacey with Petal Pushers we we able to create these wonderful bouquets and arrangements. We're so happy we could achieve their dream wedding!

Now check out these uber-fabulous wedding photos from Nichols Photography!
Have you seen anything cuter than leopard print cardigans for the flower girls?!

Angela & Manny
Here's an awesome video by Elite Video Productions
This was on October wedding at Austin 71. Awesome venue - even lovelier couple. Angela's mom was unable to make the wedding from Florida, so they used their Mac computer and streamed the ceremony live over the internet. Gotta love technology!
